Open For Business

Wow! the past few weeks have been a whirlwind but it is official! Kokoro Health and Fitness is open for business!
A few short weeks ago we took over Thompson Performance and started the process of becoming new business owners. We prepped the space, put up a fresh coat of paint, and added our own flare. It was a lot of work but totally worth it. While all that was going on we secured all the proper licensing and business documents. That process proved to not be as quick and easy as we had hoped but in the end, we got it all figured out so we can officially open our doors!

What Is Kokoro Health And Fitness?

Kokoro Health and Fitness is a personal training and small group class studio gym, located in Atlantic Beach, FL

At Kokoro Health and Fitness we offer a variety of classes including:

Rage Fit
Functional Fit
Recovery Fit

We also offer private and semi-private personal training sessions by appointment.

In the future, we would like to offer specialized recovery services including yoga, ice baths, and more.

Kokoro Health and Fitness is locally owned and operated, veteran-owned, and woman-owned.

Who Are We?

We are a husband and wife business duo that lives right here in Atlantic Beach, FL. After traveling the country for the past few years we decided it was time for a change. Long story short, the stars aligned and here we are opening our first brick-and-mortar business!

Joe is our lead personal trainer and has dreamed of owning his own gym since he was a teenager. He is extremely passionate about longevity and health which lead him to pursue a certificate in personal training. In addition to his PT certification, he is also a certified nutrition coach, certified happiness coach, and holds a variety of other certs. Joe graduated from the University of Colombia and served 8 years in the United States Navy. He enjoys the ocean, working with his hands, and functional fitness. He volunteers with the beach clean-up and supports small businesses (especially breweries).

Mindy makes the behind-the-scenes magic happen. She worked in account management for over 10 years where she excelled in customer service. Mindy earned a B.S. in Business Management from NIU with an emphasis in entrepreneurship and has wanted to run her own business ever since. She has a passion for wellness and is working on additional certifications including nutrition. She currently resides in Atlantic Beach, FL where she enjoys running on the beach, meditation, yoga, and paddleboarding.
